ABOUT JOEY
Joey Carman’s photographic career spans twenty plus years from NYC to LA and beyond. He started his career in front of the lens as a model touring Europe. Sensing an opportunity, Joey the consummate entrepreneur, created his own Fashion Boutique Modeling Agency. Moving around the globe and settling down in New York City, he covered fashion from behind the lens, and soon had his own one man gallery show.
Joey resides in Los Angeles with his wife Karen, and his two children Katie and Joey Jr. He owns and operates Joey Carman Photography, Inc. and Design, in Los Angeles, a full service studio that crosses many photographic genres including fashion, commercial, product, digital compositing, family and wedding photography.
In addition to running a successful west coast photography studio, Joey is a beta tester for Adobe, Apple, Kodak, Canon, Nikon, Pocket Wizard and On One Software. On a regular basis he consults for Fortune 500 Companies such as Paramount Pictures, Sony and The Walt Disney Company (to name a few). Areas of technical expertise for consultation include: Original and Digital Art and Asset Management, Conceptual Photography - Initial Concept Drawing to Full Advertising Layouts, Art Director and Principle Layout Artist for Various DVD Home Entertainment Digital Packaging, Pioneered QTVR (Quick-time Virtual Reality) for Disney Consumer Products Style Guides and Maquette Animation, Lead Designer and Operations Consultant for Multiple On-site Digital Studios. Joey has been published in numerous publications, is an educator of photography, cinematographer and experienced graphic designer making him a triple industry asset.
Joey is a premier rock ‘n’ roll photographer capturing musicians on and off stage like KISS, Nikki Sixx, Ted Nugent, Steven Tyler, Demi Lovato Nuno Bettencourt and Ellie Goulding (to name a few). In his spare time Joey digs, skiing, hiking, biking, bbq’ing, golfing, is a certified SCUBA Instructor with PADI, NAUI and DAN, and spending time with family + friends. Joey along with his wife Karen, have been a part of the creative team at Powerhouse Lux Media and Westlake Magazine since 2013. Did we mention he’s a certified foodie?
